Where in your life do you stare at the scoreboard?

Where in your life do you stare at the scoreboard?

My Fellow Compassionate Capitalists:

This week I get to take over the newsletter! Hi, my name is Hannah and I am the marketing manager here at Titan impact group!

I am very excited to share something with you that I think is super powerful and vital to every person’s life and business!

This comes from the book Atomic Habits!

The book’s foundational message is that all big things come from small beginnings. The seed of every habit is a single, tiny decision.

I know in my life that sometimes I get a huge motivational surge and I try to add about 20 good habits at the same time. Then a couple of days later I stop. Who else can relate to this? A lot of times it has to do with the health aspect…. But I know I do it in all areas of my life.

So what I learned from this book is that habit stacking is extremely important. What is habit stacking? Habit stacking is basically starting with one task and making that a habit and then slowly adding more habits that eventually will turn into a lifestyle.

“The goal in any sport is to finish with the best score, but it would be ridiculous to spend the whole game staring at the scoreboard. The only way to actually win is to get better each day.”

-James Clear

In the words of three times Super Bowl winner Bill Walsh, “the score takes care of itself. “

Can you think of places in your life where you stare at the scoreboard?

This absolutely blew my mind! There are many ways I stare at the scoreboard!

-My business

-The scale

-My life

I think to myself “why am I not in my dream life, with my dream body, making $1 billion with my business yet?”

I’ve learned that if you want better results, then forget about setting goals. Focus on your system instead. Goals are about the results you want to achieve but our systems are about the process that leads to results!

Goals are not bad obviously. It’s nice to have goals. However goals are good for setting a direction, but systems are best for making progress. Fall in love with systems. Committing to the process is what makes the difference.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this newsletter! I hope I inspired you to check out the book Atomic Habits by James Clear!
